FAQs
Here you’ll find answers to the most common questions about Sonic Scout Radio and getting featured. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, just reach out — I’d love to hear from you. My goal is to make this process smooth, exciting, and fun for you from the very start!
What is Sonic Scout Radio?
Sonic Scout Radio is a global, 24/7 platform created to champion unsigned and independent artists — giving your music and your story the chance to be heard by tens of thousands of listeners across the world. It’s a thriving community of artists and fans who crave fresh, original sounds without algorithms or gatekeepers getting in the way. Every show is passionately curated by real people who live for discovering and sharing independent music.
How Do I Submit My Music?
The easiest way is through the Sonic Scout Radio app:
Once you’ve installed the app, create a profile and log in. To submit your track and complete payment, tap View → “+” and follow the prompts. Be sure to select “blckjcksn” or “Audio Underground” from the Presenter dropdown so it routes directly to my show.
Prefer the website? No problem — click here to use the Submission Page. Enter the requested info, use audiounderground@sonicscoutradio.com as the email contact, and list “blckjcksn” as the Presenter. Please send your track files to me directly at that email.
Either way you submit, I’ll follow up via email with everything you need to make your week on Sonic Scout Radio a huge success — and an amazing experience for both you and the listeners.
What Happens After I Submit?
I’ll reach out within one business day — usually much sooner — to confirm that I’ve received your submission. From there, I’ll let you know what to expect leading up to your air date, including how your track will be introduced, promoted, and scheduled. You’ll also get a rundown of what the week of airing looks like so there are no surprises — just excitement.
I’ll also ask you for a short bio and any other details you want shared. The more you provide, the more I can talk about your music and your story on air — which helps listeners connect with you on a deeper level.
I’ll be your direct contact for anything you need, from quick questions about timing to advice on how to make the most of your feature. During your week, I’ll keep you updated on when your spins are happening, share social promotion highlights, and give you opportunities to engage with our audience.
And it doesn’t stop after your track airs. Once you’re part of the Sonic Scout Radio family, you’re always part of it. I’m here to support you for future submissions, interviews, or live performance opportunities connected to Audio Underground and Sonic Scout Radio. Think of it as a partnership — one that doesn’t end when the week is over.
How Much Airplay Does My Song Actually Get?
Your track gets 14 plays in one week — twice a day for seven days. But it’s more than just spins. Each play comes with a full intro + outro, where I talk about you, your song, and why listeners should care. I don’t just queue your track — I hype it. I spend the week being your biggest supporter on air and across socials, making sure your music connects with a global audience.
And because Audio Underground with blckjcksn is consistently one of Sonic Scout Radio’s top-performing shows, your song doesn’t just play — it plays in prime slots throughout the week, when our audience is at its strongest and most engaged.
How Many Listeners Does the Show Have?
As of late September, Audio Underground with blckjcksn has grown from just 500 weekly listeners at launch in late June to over 8,000 streams per week, holding that mark for consecutive weeks and climbing steadily.
That growth comes from relentless effort — social media campaigns, guerrilla marketing, and the launch of discovery podcasts available right in the Sonic Scout Radio app. And we’re not slowing down.
8,000 in two months… why not 80,000 in four? Why not 800,000 in eight? That’s the mindset driving Sonic Scout Radio. We’re passionate, determined, and building the go-to global stage for unsigned and independent music — and every artist who joins us becomes part of that movement.
Who Do I Contact If I Have Questions?
You’ll never be left guessing — I’ll be your direct contact throughout the entire process. My career began in customer service, and that foundation has shaped everything I do. I take pride in making artists feel supported, heard, and valued at every step.
If you have a question about Audio Underground, Sonic Scout Radio, or even just how to get the most out of your feature week, I’m here for you. No question is too small, and if I don’t have the answer right away, I’ll track it down and get back to you as quickly as possible.
I aim to respond within minutes whenever I can. And if I can’t reply immediately — because I might be on-air, in the studio, or covering a local event — rest assured that your message will be a priority the moment I’m able to respond.
Think of me as your partner in this process, not just a presenter. My role isn’t only to play your music, but also to help you navigate the experience, amplify your story, and make your time on Sonic Scout Radio a positive and memorable one.
Does it Cost Money?
Barely — just $10. That small contribution helps power a hyper-ambitious project created by independent musicians for independent musicians. It keeps the servers humming, the mics on, and the shows rolling week after week.
But it’s more than just keeping the lights on. That $10 is a stake in something bigger — a global stage where indie artists can be heard, celebrated, and discovered by listeners who crave authenticity. By contributing, you’re not just submitting a song — you’re helping grow a community that rejects algorithms and gatekeepers in favor of passion, connection, and music that truly matters.
If you can't pay for any reason whatsoever, including simply not wanting to, just let me know. I will work through other channels - such as my Patreon subscribers - to get your song on the air. If it is good enough to be heard then it would be silly to let $10 stand in the way.
What Kind Of Music Are You Looking For?
Independent. Period. If you’re unsigned and serious about your sound, we want to hear it. Any genre is welcome — indie, rock, pop, hip-hop, funk, punk, folk, R&B, experimental, or whatever’s good.
Sonic Scout Radio isn’t about fitting into a box — it’s about showcasing authentic voices and sounds that deserve a global audience. If your music is fresh, original, and made with heart, there’s a place for it here.
